The Ocean House Galapagos hospitality project

Located just outside Puerto Ayora near the serene Tortuga Bay, The Lake House is a community building designed to bring people together and foster cultural exchange within a new residential development in the hills overlooking the Galápagos coastline.
The project is part of the creation of an entirely new residential area in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. Favre Design Studio is collaborating with developer PlaceMakers and operator Salt to establish a social hub at the heart of this new coastal district.
Its architectural concept draws inspiration from two defining elements of the region: the relaxed community life of towns such as Puerto Ayora, which embodies openness and social interaction, and the soft, organic lines of landscapes like Tortuga Bay, reflected in the building’s fluid forms and gentle transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Lake House serves as a vibrant hub for residents and visitors, offering flexible spaces for gatherings, workshops, and leisure activities. By blending local island culture with contemporary design, it creates a harmonious dialogue between community life and the extraordinary natural beauty of the surrounding Galápagos Islands.
